Over the last few days a weather phenomenon has passed over the Island known as the Pineapple Express and we have had around 150mm of rain. Combined with high tides, this has resulted in flooding along the coastal regions, as rivers have burst their banks.
Yesterday, we walked to Qualicum Falls to witness what this rainfall has done to the flow of the river upstream. As you can see and hear the result is quite powerful! The first video is of the river flowing under the Upper bridge and the second video (below) is of Upper Qualicum Falls.
At night, when all is still, we can hear the roar of the Falls from our bedroom window. To top this, there was an earthquake yesterday in the Queen Charlotte Islands (north of Vancouver Island on the way to Alaska). It registered 6.5 and briefly triggered a tsunami warning.
And now it snows.........................................
Amazing film footage; we THANK you! Love it.
